Research aims
The scientific mission of the Department of Drug Science and Technology encompasses all stages of drug discovery, from drug design, synthesis, and characterization to formulation and clinical pharmacology. This multidisciplinary approach is of strategic importance to the University of Turin due to its significant regional and national impact. The department leverages broad expertise across pharmaceutical chemistry, drug technology, pharmaceutical biology, pharmacology, clinical pharmacology, biochemistry, physiology, organic chemistry, food chemistry, cosmetic science, and analytical chemistry.

Department themes and groups
The scientific activity of the Department is accomplished through the following components: twelve Full Professors, thirty-five Associate Professors, eighteen Researchers and fourteen members of the Technical Research Staff, for a total of 65 faculty members. This activity is divided into different areas and is made possible thanks to funding from MUR and other ministries, the CNR, the Region, and contracts and agreements with private sponsors, the European Community, and through targeted plans.
