Oils obtained with innovative extraction techniques will be compared with oils from conventional extraction technique.

Some courses, masterclasses and workshop will be carried out with the aim to increase project’s dissemination.

PHENOILS, a European project of R&D, financially supported by EIT-FOOD, leaded by Acesur within a consortium of international entities as Instituto de la Grasa-CSIC (Centre for advanced scientific studies), University of Turin (DSTF), Technological German centre of Fraunhofer and the Portuguese company “Energy Pulses Systems”, starts its last annuity with the aim of consolidating the promising results obtained in the previous years.

In this year, educational events will take place in Spain, Italy and Greece (as in 2021), along with the incorporation of a new country linked with olive oil sector, Croatia, where a dissemination workshop will be held on October 26th in collaboration with the University of Zagreb and the University of Turin.

As innovative extraction techniques selected by PHENOILS, Ultrasounds and Pulsed Electric Fields will be combined and compared for olive oils extraction at industrial scale looking for successfully results in term of yields and oils quality (oils enriched with added value products such as antioxidants).

In parallel, courses, masterclasses and workshop will be activated by partners to increase the project dissemination in olive oil sector. Likewise, will be published the obtained results in RIS countries into scientific journal.

PHENOILS aims to achieve EVOO with higher polyphenols content (antioxidants), that are beneficial compounds for human health, thanks to the use of innovative oil extraction techniques. For this reason, 2022 PHENOILS´s annuity represents a technological challenge at industrial scale in order to produce high quality EVOO in RIS countries.
