Post graduate courses

Updated on 27/11/2015 – Please note that the Board of the Turin University has not granted the Post Graduate School of Specialization in Hospital Pharmacy permission to start the 1st cycle of the New Regulation for the present academic year, pending decisions by the Ministry (MIUR).

POST GRADUATE SCHOOL OF HOSPITAL PHARMACY (a 4 year course)

 

Objectives: The course objective is to intended to train professionals for Hospital Pharmacies and Pharmaceutical Services

Course Contents: At least 400 hours of lectures and at least 400 hours of on the job training in hospital pharmacies and/or public pharmaceutical services.

The subjects taught will offer more in depth study in the areas already covered during the degree course in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technologies and specifically pharmaceutical chemistry, metabolism of drugs , pharmacokinetics,  drug therapy, drug control, drugs and epidemiology, pharmaceutical technology, pharmaceutical legislation and drugs and economics.

In addition notions of microbiology, hygiene, dietary science, pathology and chemical-clinical analysis are offered.

Graduate students are taught the main methods of statistics applied to the study of drugs and epidemiology and medical economics, using ITC.

Career opportunities: Job opportunities include a hospital pharmacists or as a pharmacist in the public health institutions.
